Welcome to To Do Tuesday – October 17
Christine at Stitch ALL The Things hosts To Do Tuesday. TDT is a great weekly motivator to finish projects and (for me) to keep my To Do List manageable.
My list from October 10:
1. Leggings & Shirts for Harley
2. Dinner for Eight
We had some semi-nice weather this weekend, and we took the doors off the house to get them painted. I am absolutely thrilled with the final result of our house! I love the vibrant colors, and I am ecstatic to have this project finished!
1. Leggings & Shirts for Harley
Now that the rush of pattern testing and Dinner for Eight is over with, I have time to get these sewn. They are top priority this week!
2. Dinner for Eight – Moroccan Style
Instead of cooking dinner ourselves this time, Todd and I decided to hire one of our local catering companies, Merlyn’s Catering. Last year, we purchased groceries to make the meal twice (practice once), and we spent almost a full two days cooking. We decided that the cost of groceries and our time was worth hiring a caterer, and boy howdy, was it! The food was amazing, and Merlyn converted several of us “bad experience” lamb haters to lamb eaters! Believe it or not, NONE of us took a single picture the whole evening, so I don’t have any to share. However, I will share our menu.
- Appetizer of Seasoned Fava Bean Puree with Herbs and Flat Bread
- Sweet Lettuce Salad with Shaved Red Onion, Zucchini, and Blood Orange
- Khubz served with all courses
- Lamb Tangine with Quince, Prunes and Almonds
- Couscous
- Keneffa – light pastry layered with Moroccan pastry cream
- Mint Tea
If you ever have the opportunity to try authentic Moroccan food, DO IT! It is absolutely amazing!

To borrow a phrase – “Yeet Ye Riche”
I absolutely love your front door! Those colors are gorgeous. Yay for getting such a big project finished! The dinner sounds wonderful, I am so glad it was successful!
I love the door more each time I see it! It’s just such a “happy” color!
Your house looks amazing! Love your vibrant colors – that pop of yellow sunshine on your door. And that meal! Sounds amazing too!
