I have been mulling words over in my head for a week now – ever since Katelyn’s birthday. I have been trying to figure out how to convey my feelings for this girl so whoever reads this would understand just how much she means to me. I decided to just start typing and hopefully the words would come.
Katelyn was four when she came into my life. She was a spunky, sweet, loving, spirited little girl with crazy blonde curls, bright blue eyes, and a heart of gold. She filled a void in my life that I didn’t know existed until she came along. Over the past seven years, I have watched this sweet, bubbly little girl turn into a beautiful, smart young lady. She is loving, funny, compassionate, and absolutely wonderful! Katelyn is the daughter I never knew I wanted, and I can’t imagine my life without her.
We celebrated Katelyn’s birthday last week. It’s so hard to believe she is 11 already!
I love the look on her face in this picture. We got her the Zach Brown Band CD, and I didn’t realize just how much she really wanted it. When she opened it, she acted like we gave her the world. It was so awesome to see how thrilled she was; it made my evening!
So, Miss Katelyn, thank you so very much for filling my life so much my cup overflows. I love you, and I am looking forward to watching you grow and develop into the fantastic woman you will become.
Love,
Mom
