Post-A-Day 2011: If you could work from anywhere, where would you want to live?
What an easy question to answer.
If I could work from anywhere, I wouldn’t think twice – I would choose to work from wherever my family is. If that meant here in Irrigon, then fine by me. I love it here. I love that I’m 25 minutes from Tri-Cities, and 2-1/2 hours from Portland. Our house is literally less than 1/2 mile from the beach on the banks of the Columbia River! We are only a 45-minute drive to the mountains. We kind of have the best of everything here, and as long as I’m with my family, that is where I would choose to be.
It’s as simple as that.
However . . .
You had to know that big “however” was coming.
If I could MOVE my family to anywhere in the world, I would like to live in the mountains. There would have to be a catch, though. It would have to be close enough to a city or large town where I could also be around people. Plus, I don’t know what kind of work I could do from the mountains. Since we would have to win the lottery or come into some unknown inheritance to do this, I don’t see it happening any time soon. Besides, Aaron says I could never live in the mountains because I’m too social.
He’s right.
Who knows, maybe we will win the lottery and we can have a house in the mountains and somewhere warm, with white, sandy beaches, drinks with umbrellas, and Wi-Fi so I could work from home. 😉
There is nothing like staying at home for real comfort.
