This skirt is one of my absolute favorites! I have to be honest, though and tell you up front that it is a size that is way way way too big for me (I think it’s a 18/20, and I wear a 6/8). When I found it, though, knowing the master seamstress my mom is, I just knew she could alter it for me, especially since it was such a great price. That was a little over a year ago, and the safety pins I put in the waistband are still there, but I don’t think anyone can tell except me. I will get it altered this summer, though, so I can wear it comfortably whenever I want.
I had a daunting day ahead of me, so I decided to wear the skirt, my yellow shirt, and my red American Eagle flats. It really was like a little bit of sunshine with me all day long.
So here’s the breakdown (brace yourself, this outfit was EXPENSIVE!!! LOL):
Flowered Skirt – $ 8.00 (Old Navy)
White Tank – $ 3.00 (Wal-Mart)
Yellow Shirt – $ 4.00 (Wal-Mart)
Red AE Flats – $ 18.00 (Payless Shoes)
On a side note, any picture you see of me lately will show the necklace I’m wearing here. It’s a little circle with five stars inside it. There is an inscription around the circle that has become my new motto:
Life is not about finding yourself.
Life is about creating yourself.
