The most I can do for my friend is simply be his friend.
~ Henry David Thoreau
Friendship is a two way street, and I have absolutely FANTASTIC friends! I have talked about them so many times, but I don’t ever feel like I can explain just how much they each mean to me. The friends I have are new and old, close and far, and truer than I ever could have asked for.
I cannot say the same for me. I have been a good friend, but recently I have let my friendships slide while I wallowed in self-pity and sank into this hole I’m climbing out of.
I have neglected my friends. I have not been a good friend, and I am going to make that better. They have reached out to lift me up and support me so much these last few months, and I want them to know that I appreciate it all, and I love them all!
I hope that one day if any of them ever need me to be there for them, that they know I’m there in a heart beat!
A true friend unbosoms freely, advises justly, assists readily, adventures boldly, takes all patiently, defends courageously, and continues a friend unchangeably.
~ William Penn
So to the ones I feel I have neglected – Yvette, Crindalyn, Diana, Geneva, Wanda, Sandi, and all the others – I am here, I truly appreciate each one of you, and I value each of your friendships dearly.
