Reagan has been asking for a haircut since around Christmas-time. For one reason or another, we haven’t been able to get it done. Brenda and I were kind of avoiding it because we love being able to pull it up and out of her face, but in the long run we caved and she was FINALLY able to get it cut Friday morning. Reagan had been wanting an A-line (short in back, long in front), and Brenda made it happen!
One HUGE plus about Reagan getting her hair cut off is that she will be able to comb the back herself – something she really had a hard time with when it was long.
Brenda is a pretty stinkin’ awesome step-mom already, but her coolness factor is even higher now that she has her own salon and all!
This is just one of the many HUGE piles of hair that was on the floor when Brenda was done cutting. I think the longest pieces cut off were close to ten inches! I cannot believe she had that much hair to cut off!
Afterwards, Regan and I finally made it out to take her 9-year-old birthday pictures, but I forgot to get the “after” pictures of the haircut. Harley was awesome and took them for me with her phone, so these are a little pixellated, but you can see how the haircut looks anyway.
I thought I’d include just a couple from her birthday pictures, too. We had a great time, and she kept flipping her hair around – it was too cute!
What I love best about the new cut, other than it’s simple and she’s going to be able to take care of it herself, is that it makes her look so much more like a little girl again. I know it’s because she’s my youngest, but I am definitely not in any hurry for her to grow up – physically, emotionally, in her facial features, in any way at all!
