The prompt for the Post-A-Day 2011 today is an interesting one:
If you could go back in time and have a 5 minute conversation with yourself ten years ago, what would you say?
As soon as I read it, a hundred different thoughts ran through my head . . . don’t do this, don’t do that, DO this, etc., you get the picture. Then I started to think about it, REALLY thinkg about it. I thought of me the person of 10 years ago and me the person of today. I thought about all the things I would consider mistakes, the heartaches, the triumphs, the joys, and the successes.
I tried to think if there was anything I would change, but no, I really don’t think I would change any of my experiences. I am the person I am today because of them.
However, if I could tell myself anything, it would be to stop.
STOP beating yourself up over your mistakes and fumbles!
START being your own cheerleader!
STOP second guessing yourself at every turn!
START believing you are the smart capable person everyone else sees!
Most importantly:
STOP and enjoy the time you have with your daughters, they are going to grow up so very quickly these moments will be gone before you know it. Rock them to sleep, play games with them, and grab extra hugs and kisses from them every chance you get!
