My Parents

My parents, Donna & Burr, with their baby girl, Luna:

I found this quote today and thought instantly of my parents:

Give me the life of the boy whose mother is nurse,
seamstress, washerwoman, cook, teacher, angel,
and saint, all in one, and whose father is guide, exemplar,
and friend. No servants to come between. These are the
boys who are born to the best fortune.
~Andrew Carnegie

Okay, so the quote is about a “boy”, but who cares. I had the nurse, seamstress, washerwoman, cook, teacher, angel, and saint, AND the guide, exemplar, and friend PLUS so much more that I couldn’t even begin to think of them all.

I grew up with the best fortune ~ two parents who loved me and taught me to be the person I am today (though I didn’t always like the lessons).

Thanks, Mom & Dad, I love you.
