To Do Tuesday July 25

Welcome to To Do Tuesday July 25

TDTuesday

Christine at Stitch ALL The Things hosts To Do Tuesday.  TDT is a great weekly motivator to finish projects and (for me) to keep my To Do List manageable.

My list from July 18:

1.  Dresses for Emma
2.  Bahama Mama Bikini Bottoms
3.  “I Make Pretty Things” Slim Fit Raglan
4.  Pattern Test for Reagan

This week took a turn I wasn’t expecting, and while it wasn’t bad, it did derail my plans a little.  I was asked to test another pattern, and the turn-around time on it is pretty quick.  Because my priorities changed I had to let a couple of items slip to the bottom of my list.  In addition, Harley and I drove to Corvallis (about 6 hours) and back Saturday to look for apartments for the upcoming school year.  We had a great day, but traveling that much in one day is always difficult.  It also took an entire day away from making progress on my list.

1.  BSD Maggie Dresses for Emma

Emma’s dresses were cut and ready to be sewn together last week, and that is how they have remained.  I’m hoping to get them finished and mailed off to her this week.

2.  Bahama Mama Bikini Bottoms

These, too are cut and ready to sew.  Time to find the time . . .

3.  “I Make Pretty Things” Slim Fit Raglan

Another item sitting on my “cut and ready to sew” pile.  The Slim Fit Raglan I am making will use the sewing machine fabric for the sleeves and neckband and charcoal for the body.  I will place the heat transfer vinyl “I make pretty things” on the front.

4.  Pattern Test for Reagan #1

This pattern is a top, tunic, and dress, and my “fit” version fit her perfectly.  Even better – she actually really liked it and wants a couple more.

5.  Pattern Test for Reagan #2

Like the other pattern test I’m working on, this is a shirt, and Reagan loves it!  I love how easy it is to put together, even with its unique “twists.” and turns.

6.  The Duchess High-Low Skirt Blog Tour Post

The final item I am adding to my list is a brand-new FREE pattern from Jessica Hooley at DIBY.club.  The pattern is a very easy sew, and it is releasing today.  The skirt is versatile enough to go from beach to bistro!  Jessica asked for volunteers to participate in a pattern release blog tour, so I jumped at the chance.  I made both a woven and knit version of the skirt for my Blog Tour post, and I cannot wait to share them with everyone.  For now, here is a sneak peek at the two fabrics I used.  The purple is the woven, and the blue floral is knit.

My to-do list for this week:

1.  Dresses for Emma
2.  Bahama Mama Bikini Bottoms
3.  “I Make Pretty Things” Slim Fit Raglan
4.  Pattern Test for Reagan
5. Pattern Test for Reagan
6. The Duchess High-Low Skirt Blog Tour Post

Are you working on anything fun this week?

  1. Wow! You still got a ton done considering the hiccups! Great projects! Oh, how I wish I could sew garments! Thank you for sharing!

    1. Thank you!

Garments aren’t too bad; start with the basics, and go from there. ?

  2. What a busy week! I hope the trip to Corvallis was successful in identifying an apartment. Love the fabrics for the skirt. I’m looking forward to your post about them!

    1. We found several “possible” apartments, and she is back down there today for orientation and to finalize the apartment possibilities.
