To Do Tuesday May 9

Welcome to To Do Tuesday May 9!
TDTuesday

Christine at Stitch ALL The Things hosts To Do Tuesday.  TDT is a great weekly motivator to finish projects and (for me) to keep my To Do List manageable.

My list from May 2:

1.  Take pictures at May Day & Write a Wrap-Up Post
2.  Harley’s Graduation Gift
3. Take stock of fabric stash and create a summer capsule wardrobe plan

We had another busy week that started with Softball and ended with May Day, Golf, and another Prom.  Fortunately, we had a nice, slow-paced weekend at home, and I was able to get a lot of sewing done!

1.  Take pictures at May Day & Write a Wrap-Up Post

The May Day Celebration was perfect.  I have the images edited, and the post is mostly written.  It will publish later this week.  The girls didn’t all select the same dress, so I made the Made for Mermaids Mama Quinn, Patterns for Pirates Timeless Tunic Dress and Sweetheart Dress, and Bella Sunshine Designs Maggie Dress.

This is the entire Senior Class just before the May Day program started.  That’s my Harley-Bug clear on the right. <3

2.  Harley’s Graduation Gift

Todd and I have actually figured out what we’re going to give Harley for graduation, and I won’t be sewing it, so I am removing this item from my list. 😀

3.  Take stock of fabric stash and create a summer capsule wardrobe plan

While I didn’t necessarily create a specific plan, I have pulled the fabrics I am going to use and assigned them to patterns.  The first pattern I decided to work on was Patterns for Pirates Favorite Tee.  I cut out seven (one is not pictured), and I assembled them all as far as the side seams and v-neck binding.  I just have hemming and top-stitching left, which will take a little time because of thread color changes.  The one thing I am doing, since I work in an office, is making sure that everything I make is work appropriate and will transition to fall easily.

My To Do List is going to remain short until these dresses are finished!

1.  Work on summer capsule wardrobe
2. Find a pattern for Todd’s LARP Doublet/Tunic
3. Make my LARP Cloak

What are you working on this week?

  1. Wow! The May Day dresses are amazing. You are a sewing rockstar for getting those all done. That Favorite Tee pattern is amazing, and I love the fabrics you chose for that. I have saved the link to that pattern so that I can purchase it later in the year.

    1. Awe, thanks! I am absolutely thrilled with how well they turned out! I think you will love the Favorite Tee – the options make it so versatile you could make a closet-full!

  2. What a fine looking group of students! And your dresses look amazing on each of the girls! Well done! I feel like your list this week is giving you a bit of a breather after all of the dresses! And, congrats on your daughter’s graduation!
