To Do Tuesday March 21

Welcome to To Do Tuesday March 21!

TDTuesday

Christine at Stitch ALL The Things hosts To Do Tuesday.  TDT is a great weekly motivator to finish projects and (for me) to keep my To Do List manageable.  It has been a LONG three weeks since I posted, and while I have not been productive sewing, I have been busy healing and getting  back to “normal” life.

My list from February 28:

1.  Schedule Top & Tunic Testing review post
2.  Relax and take care of my healing after surgery.

1.  Scene Top & Tunic Testing Review Post

I was not able to get this finished before surgery, but I’m hoping to review it at some point, still. If you’re interested, the pattern can be found here:  Peek-a-Boo Vienna Top & Tunic.

2.   Relax and take care of my healing after surgery

DONE!!!  Surgery went well, and recovery has been good. I had my follow-up appointment last Tuesday to have the staples removed, which was awesome. I returned to work part time yesterday, and I am really enjoying being back in the land of humans.  Not that I mind our dogs, but their conversation skills are somewhat lacking. My surgeon is really happy with the progress my healing is making, and so am I. It looks great!

This first image is basically what I had done, except the two connections into the femur were moved to the tibia.  I had the fibular-tibial joint reconstructed and stabilized.  I received beautiful flowers from my sister’s family and my friend Crindalyn and her son, Kaeden.  The final picture is the view I have had for the past three weeks – TV, IceMan Machine, and a dog in my lap.  It’s not a bad view, but I am ready for a change.

The pictures below are a sequence of healing at 3 days, one week, two weeks, and three weeks.  The human body amazes me with its ability to heal and recover.

I don’t know when I’ll be able to sew again (I’m hoping this week), so I really don’t have a “to-do” list until I can. Several new patterns have released the past two weeks, and I can’t wait to try them out!

My To Do List for this week:

1.  Heal and get back to normal life/routine

What are you working on this week?

  1. Oh my gosh! Your To Do List is filled up – healing is hard work! Prayers for your quick healing!

  2. I agree with Patricia! Healing is hard work. But looks like you are doing it right! Blessing for a quick recovery!

    1. Thank you! Healing is hard work – it amazes me how much energy it takes just to do simple tasks. 🙂

  3. I am so glad to see you are healing so well and quickly! That view may have gotten old, but I am glad you were able to rest and let your body do the hard work of healing.

    1. Thank you! I am amazed at the human body and how it takes care of itself! I am glad to be back at work, even part time, but I am ready for that old boring view when I get home. I get worn out really quickly! 😀 Safe travels back to warm weather!

    1. Thank you, Sarah! The flowers were gorgeous, and they lasted FOREVER! I just threw them out yesterday, after almost four weeks!
