To Do Tuesday is hosted by Christine at Stitch ALL The Things. It is a great weekly motivator to finish projects and (for me) to keep my To Do List manageable. I have been participating since last spring, and I love how much it helps my ADHD brain stay focused!
Unfortunately, if you’ve read my pinned post, you know that I had a website issue, and I have lost an entire year of posts and images. Because of that, I can’t quite remember exactly what my list for last week included, so I’m winging it.
Here is my list from November 22:
1. Peek-A-Boo Pattern Shop Christmas Stockings (FREE pattern!)
2. Pan Protectors
3. November TNSEM – Lace Overlay
4. Tunic and Dress Pattern Testing Final
5. Baby Gifts (two girls – neither knew until they were born)
6. August TSNEM – Bodice Sloper (remeasure and adjust pattern accordingly)
7. September TSNEM – Hat and Mask making
So, let’s see what progress I made!
Last week was the Thanksgiving holiday weekend here in the US, which, for me, meant an extra long weekend at home. It worked out perfectly because I was finally able to spend some quality time with projects and my sewing machine. I even spent some time crocheting another hat – this time a white one for Reagan but I forgot to take pictures of it.
1. Christmas Stockings with the FREE pattern from Peek-A-Boo Pattern Shop
Being a blended family, we have a mish-mash of household items, including holiday decorations. One thing I have really wanted to do is make stockings for all of us to hang in our home. I ran across the Free Christmas Stocking Pattern at Peek-A-Boo Pattern Shop early this summer and decided this would be the year for new stockings. I used fabric Todd and I found at fabric.com: Red White & Black Plaid Flannel, Solid White Flannel, and Gray Cotton Broadcloth (lining). Keep your eyes out for a full post about the process later this week.
2. Pan Protectors
Todd and I got some really nice new pans, but because we have a very small galley-style kitchen, storage comes at a premium. To prevent the pans from becoming scratched or damaged, I made felt pan protectors. I used two layers of felt and a pattern and tutorial I found at This Heart of Mine. I also made some for our friends and their new pans out of flannel from my stash, but I didn’t take any pictures of them.
3. November TNSEM Project: Lace Overlay
I have the fabric pulled and the bodice sloper (August TSNEM) done, so I count that as progress. 😀
4. Tunic and Dress Pattern Testing Final
I just received the final version of the pattern for testing, so I wil be doing that over the weekend.
5. Two Baby Gifts (both girls)
Two of my co-workers had baby girls during Thanksgiving week, and neither of them knew what they were having. Now that I know they both had girls, I need to get busy making a couple gifts.
6. Fabric De-Stash and Organize
Finally, one item that was not on my list, but was very satisfying to get done was going through my fabric, getting rid of what I no longer want/need, and organizing and putting it away. I ended up getting rid of two large garbage bags, and it feels great! Though, Todd says they’ll just end up back at our house eventually because I gave them to his mom! 😀 I am really happy with how organized and clean everything is.
7. September TSNEM – Hat and Mask making
I am still not worried about getting this done before the end of the year, I’m just keeping it on my radar.
Wrap-Up
To Do Tuesday November 29 is looking pretty good, and I should be able to finish what is left on my list.
