To Do Tuesday September 13

TDTuesday

Welcome to To Do Tuesday September 13 hosted by Christine over at Stitch All the Things!

This is what my to-do list from last week looked like:

1.   Capsule Wardrobe
2.  TSNEM:  August – Bodice Sloper (remeasure and adjust pattern accordingly)
3.  Sunkissed Tee from Peek-A-Boo Pattern Shop
4.  Tymek’s Quilt Binding

Hey, guess what?  I got more stuff done!!!  It wasn’t a lot of stuff on my list, but I feel more productive than I have in months!

I didn’t make any progress on readjusting the bodice sloper for my August TSNEM or the Sunkissed Tee from Peek-A-Boo Pattern Shop, but I am going to just keep plugging away at both of them until they’re finished!  Getting the bodice sloper knocked out and off my list would be great because it feels like it is hanging over my head, especially since technically it was supposed to be done last month!

1.  Capsule Wardrobe

I still don’t have the entire wardrobe made that Reagan picked out, but I did get all three skirts finished.  They are all circle skirts with a small yoke and elastic waistband, and they have the perfect amount of “twirl factor” (thank goodness she was wearing shorts underneath).  What girl (even a high school freshman) doesn’t love a twirly skirt?

Each of the skirts has multiple layers and textures.  This one has the black and white toile fabric layer on top, then a layer of dark gray sparkly tulle, and finally a layer of black shot satin.  It is super cute, and Reagan says it is her favorite.  She also has a gray one with lace overlay, and a yellow shot satin one with a white tulle overlay.  I am actually super excited because the gray version was part of my 2016 Quarter Three Finish-A-Long project, and so I will be getting pictures and posting about it specifically soon.  Hooray for finished WIPs!

4.  Tymek’s Quilt Binding

I did get the binding strips cut and pieced together, now I just need to sew them onto his quilt so I can get the back side hand stitched in place.

I did manage to make a lot more (like 18 pints) peach/jalapeño jam this weekend, and that feels great!  For now, I am not adding anything new to my list, just working on what feels good at the time.

My list for this week:

1.  Capsule Wardrobe
2.  TSNEM:  August – Bodice Sloper (remeasure and adjust pattern accordingly)
3.  Sunkissed Tee from Peek-A-Boo Pattern Shop
4.  Tymek’s Quilt Binding

What are you working on this week?

  1. I know exactly what you mean about feeling productive! I think with the heat abating (hopefully it continues!) we are all finding our energy for projects again. The circle skirt is ADORABLE! Heck, I still love a great twirly skirt!

    1. Thank you! I really want one for myself, but I NEVER wear dresses our skirts, so it would be a waste. LOL

  2. Cute skirt(s)! She looks happy! Yum-Goodies canned (I always considered canning a lot of work.)

    1. Thank you! I have never really done much canning except for a little here and there. Our darn peach tree went nuts this year, and I couldn’t stand to see them all go to waste!

  3. Love that skirt! At my age – 54 – I still love twirling! You know, I feel the same way about the public “To Do List”! I may not get it all done, but I am more productive!
