Moda Sampler Block Shuffle 2015 Blocks 10, 11, & 12

I ran across the Moda Sampler Block Shuffle 2015 project at Bear Creek Quilting Company and decided it would be a fun project to try.   The project is now in it’s third week, and I’m still really enjoying myself.  Blocks 10, 11, & 12 were released Monday, and I was able to put them together that evening but haven’t had a chance to post them until now.

For this project, I am using the fabric Good Neighbors designed by Amanda Jean at Crazy Mom Quilts. The fabric is sold exclusively at Connecting Threads.

Block 10

Block 10 was very straight forward and easy to sew – five square pieces, and four half square triangles.  I didn’t really think much about how much white  there was in this block, and if  I had, I would have chosen a different print for the HST pieces.

Block 11

This is my favorite block so far!  I can imagine this block with many different patterns and fabrics, and I think it is very pretty and unique.  The one thing I would definitely change is the direction of my pressed seams – though I think they’re showing more than normal because of the dark fabric behind the block.  My background fabric really isn’t that thin.

Block 12

To be perfectly honest, I do not like this block at all.  I love the pattern of this block, but I wasn’t really paying attention when I chose the fabric and the design is too large for the pieces in this block.

Until next week, take a look at some of the previous week’s blocks:
