The Demise of "Should"

The Demise of “Should”

“Should” has clamored to the top of the charts. I should go to the gym. I should be more patient with my coworker. I should apply for graduate school.

The real message behind the word is a huge buzz kill!

It subtly conveys that we’re not good at something, that we don’t want it anyway, and that we’ve failed at it in the past. Too often it also represents what we preceive others want or expect from us.

This is your life, girlfriend! What do you want it to look like? Do you want to be patient, in shape, and educated at the graduate level?

You get to choose.

Make the choices that are right for you, from a place of empowerment.
