The “Real” Me

I am tired of maintaining blonde. It takes too much time. It is expensive. It looks great for a little bit, but then starts looking not so great. Time to not worry about my roots, hair maintenance, and whether or not I acutally have time to take care of it.

I’m back to the “real” me. My girlfriend, Yvette (who is also my stylist), and I were hanging out last Sunday watching football, and we just went for it. I cut about 5 inches total off the back – I can’t believe my hair was actually that long! And we colored my hair back to it’s natural – dark brown. It was a little shocking at first, but I love it! I love not feeling all that unhealthy junk at the ends, I love that it’s easy to fix, and I love that my girlies all said, “oh, Mom, you look so much prettier now!”

In doing so, I have simplified one aspect of my life. I am on a mission to simplify my whole life.

So, here’s the real me:

Tomorrow its back to the grind of the work-week, and after the long weekend, I am looking forward to it.

As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler; solitude will not be solitude, poverty will not be poverty, nor weakness weakness.
Henry David Thoreau
